Flower Weaving Wall Hanging

This Wallhanging was created by throwing a "loom" on the wheel then carving and decorating it into flower petals. After firing and glazing and firing again I felted those orange felt balls in order to hold my "warp" strands. I wove yarn in a circular pattern around the center of the flower. there is a handmade ceramic bead in the center.

The hanging "stems and leaves" are made from a variety of wool and cotton yarns. The leaves were created from a knot learned in Lise Silva's Knot Book, which is an incredible little resource that I highly recommend for anyone interested in the art of knotting!

This piece hangs 28" long and is 9" wide at the widest point. It is available for purchase HERE
